This site was first conceptualized in the spring of 2002 when Linda, a Senior Girl Scout, was looking for an idea for her Gold Award project. One of her leaders suggested a website, an idea that ended up making perfect sense. After clearing her idea with the service unit council and getting approval from Monmouth Council, Linda started coding in the summer of 2002.
Due to the intervention of college applications, the launch of the site was delayed until January 2003. Now the site features resources for leaders and girls alike, as well as information and a packet designed to help other service units set up their own websites.
When Linda went to college in 2003, the website was still updated by her until another person was found to take over it. Beth, a Cadette Girl Scout, looking for something for her Silver Award project, took over the job as web mistress. Now a Senior Girl Scout, she continues to act as web mistress. At the moment, she is mentoring troop 1667 so that they can one day take over the site.
